it's a exposure exercises for panic
disorder and
what that means is they are exercises
designed to desensitized to the symptoms
of a panic attack
so we're just gonna go through them and
hopefully you'll find them helpful
so first up is running on the spot
for 30 seconds to 1 minute that's to
simulate
racing heart breathlessness and chest
discomfort
so that's so all the these emm are going effect
symptoms that you get with a panic
attack
so number two as running up and down the
stairs for 30 seconds to 1 minute
and for obviously racing heart
breathlessness
chest discomefort and
number two is rapid deep breathing for 30
seconds to 1 minute
and that's that simulates
dizziness breathlessness racing heat numbness and tingling
next up is shaking head from side to
side
on moving head over and while drawing a
circle in front of you
with your nose for 30 seconds and that
one's
to simulate dizziness next is
spinning head around around spin around in
place
or spinning in a chair for 30 seconds that's
to simulate nausea and dizziness
next is holding your breath for 15 to 30
seconds and that's to simulate
breathlessness or dizziness staring
at your hand for 2 to 3 minutes and
that's for actually for
feeling of unrealitly which means
things basically looking weird staring
a light on the ceiling for one minute and
then trying to read something
that's for blurred vision wearing a tight turtleneck
or scarf around your neck for a few
minutes and that's to stimulate
tightness around your throat you so basically what you have
to do is
practice some of them least once a day
and
eventually you'll it will desensitized
to the symptoms you get when have a
panick attack so when these symptoms come on
you will not immediately gonna go
oh no i'm going to have a full-blown
panic you'll just oh
that's just that symptom on its own and it's
nothing to do
