Anxiety and Panic Attack Help 101
Hey um I am here to give people like myself
who have some sort of anxiety that creates
panic attacks and I have a couple tips cause
I've been suffering from them for a while
so I've built up a little notebook that has
some tips in it here we go
Okay number 1
So the first thing I always have with me is
a pair of headphones whether earbuds anything
that you can plug into your phone that puts
sound directly to your ears only this creates
a little I guess bubble for yourself to Um
able to calm yourself down with using other
things I will mention but having headphones
makes a huge difference it makes it easier
than holding a phone to your ear
So in order to use these headphones you need
something to play into them which leads to
number two which is to have a playlist full
of music on your phone that has slower beats
that would lower your heart rate so if you
notice the music you play your heart beat
kinda matches so playing the slower music
would do that for me personally my playlist
is filled with like Birdy, ed Sheeran, troye
sivan people like that who just have that
soothing voice and have songs that are typically
in that beat range that's not the word I want
to use sigh tempo ugh.
For number three the other thing you can use
your headphones for is to make music sounds
not music sounds to play nature sounds like
I have this app on my phone there's tons of
them but I have one specifically that plays
water sounds so like im at the ocean or by
a creek or something so it pulls me out of
wherever I am stuck and it just helps immensely
Okay off the headphones things now so number
four is something for more after you have
a panic attack which is having water with
you, I carry a bottle of water with me everywhere
whether it's just a small Poland springs one
or an actual bottle bottle that's like reusable
I'm because if you're hyperventilating during
a panic attack you dry your mouth out so you
will be extremely dehydrated by the end so
having that water to replenish you or even
during the panic attack makes a huge difference
So as a girls if your a guy this may be more
difficult but you guys also have bigger pockets
but um in a purse or pocket, bag, school bag
whatever you have put like a granola bar a
little bag of like goldfish I can't have goldfish
but besides the point um like I carry around
granola bars with me like that are according
to my dietary restrictions but they um just
to have that food cause your energy is completely
drained out of you whether you have a full
panic attack or just anxious having something
like food um like grounds you because you're
doing something else either than worrying
if food causes this worry I don't recommend
that just stick with the water
Number six that's going to be weird I'm sorry
I speak sign ps I speak sign language so this
is number six to me number six. Okay so number
six applies to some not everyone some people
need to avoid caffeine because it raises their
heart rate personally my heart rate and everything
is not affected by caffeine so I am able to
have caffeinated teas and coffees and everything
but if you are affected then I highly recommended
you do not have it, it will just increase
your anxiety
Number 7 um if you're in a social gathering
or going somewhere with a friend have that
friend know that you suffer from anxiety or
from panic attacks so they know what to do
so they can bring you water bring you something
like have working legs that are not stuck
in ball, that sounds so weird um but like
if I had a panic attack when I was at a party
and my friend came upstairs with me I texted
her across the room I'm like andquot;come upstairs
with me now pleaseandquot; and she got me water she
showed me hysterical like gifs and pictures
on her phone and it makes a huge difference
just having that person there that's like
talking while you're trying to recover
Number eight this whole sign language is so
confusing so knowing personal triggers for
this anxiety you have personally um makes
the world a difference like I know when I
go in an elevator I have to be distracted
with music, watching a video like I will literally
open YouTube and start playing like Tyler
Oakley or something while I'm moving the levels
so I'm not so terrified and will not panic
or if I'm in a crowd I will make sure I have
got nature sounds playing because that way
I don't feel like I'm walking through Times
Square.
So there's that side of the knowing your triggers
and there is also just pure avoidance like
if you avoid, if you have like a certain phobia
of like spiders or like a colour or something
I'm not sure of every phobia that exists but
if it's like of something you know to avoid
it and you know not to get to close so don't
uh panic that's just that's just something
to know.
Okay number nine huh so number nine is something
I continuously forget which is to breathe
I always forget to breathe during a panic
attack so my first go to thing is to text
one of my friends specifically who also suffers
from anxiety so she knows, and I will text
her and be like andquot;I'm freaking out helpandquot; and
her constant text is to breathe and just remembering
to breathe changes everything it seems so
simple but it's so difficult because you're
swarmed into this moment and you can't do
anything about it. But like if you're unable
to contact anyone i recommend writing it in
your friend so you know where to go.
Number ten this is such a weird number ich
so as I was saying before so if you are in
situation where you are panicked by something
just text a friend across the room have some
kind if hand signal that alerts them so you
can get out of there's less questions are
asked and just get the hell out of that situation
if you can if you can't just get out it's
very rare that you are completely unable to
get out of the situation so just get out calm
but have the attack it's worse to stifle it
and have a worse one later so that's just
what yeah yeah I just lost my words anyway
those are the ten things I've learned over
my course of having these attacks and continuously
having these attacks but just you need to
remember it like it's ugah okay so this is
normal do not ever ever forget that many people
have it so don't think you're alone and if
you do have it you're not alone if you do
not have this disorder than you definitely
know someone who does so you can very easily
educate yourself so you can help them if someone
knows what to do.
Yeah if you took something from this video
um give it a like um subscribe button is below
social media links are next to my face and
down in the description for mobile people
that was weird so yeah I hope you all enjoyed
the video and I'll see ya next time

Paris shooting: What impact will the attacks have on the UK?
That means that a terrorist attack is highly
likely and the public should remain vigilant.
In August 2014, Britain's Home Secretary Theresa
May announced the terror threat level in the
UK had been raised to severe.
This still remains, but with the recent terror
attacks in Paris, what will the impact be
on the UK?
Well, the severe terror threat level staying
in places means an attack is highly likely,
rather than being raised to critical, meaning
an attack is expected imminently.
Following the Charlie Hebdo shootings in Paris
on Wednesday, Britain has now increased security
checks at the French border to ensure the
two suspects still at large do not enter the
country.
Government officials, as well as MI5 and MI6
representatives, attended a Cobra meeting,
held by Theresa May on Thursday morning, to
discuss the terror threat in the UK.
The cowardly attacks that took place in Paris
yesterday have shocked and sickened people
in the United Kingdom and around the world
and they are a reminder of the very serious
threat we face from terrorism.
This morning, I chaired COBRA to consider
Britain's response to the attacks and our
own preparedness for a similar attack.
The extra checks at ports and train terminals
will include increased car and lorry searches,
scanning of vehicles and the visible presence
of border staff.
Britain will see an increased visible presence,
for example at Gare du Nord in Paris, and
an extra British police counter-terrorism
officer has also been sent to work with an
existing British intelligence teams in Paris.
The Prime Minister's Deputy Official Spokesman
has said today Britain will be working with
intelligence agencies to do everything possible
to prevent anyone linked with the attacks
to reach UK.
Newspapers and magazines have also been urged
to feel free to publish the cartoons that
are said to have provoked the attack.
It's not for me to argue what the media should
and shouldn't do. I would argue that here
in Britain we have a very vibrant, very disputatious,
argumentative, free, enquiring, campaigning
press, whether that's television, radio and
also newspapers but, of course, the internet
which is giving more people greater freedom
of expression. I think that's something to
be celebrated.
Media organisations in the country have been
advised to speak to police if they have any
concerns about security.
