chain has just left work supermarkets to
them
shop she's got a lot of things I'm has
been
rushing around trying all the ice and
she since the shopping cart
by checking the price and a can of goods
she knows this is something strange
her harshest certainly begin to peace
heart
so hard in fact passes pulsating in our
troops
this startle sir and then she notices
how r arm begins to shake
with pins and needles sensation this is
the first time
anything like this has ever happened to
our she's confused in starting to get
really scared
something must be wrong she thinks
begins to mentally list all the possible
things it could be is at the start of a
heart attack
is an allergic reaction to something she
ace
her stomach and chest muscles really
tense
her breathing becomes faster and more
shallow she glances around at the people
near
and as she does so she feels light
headed and dizzy
confusion and fear she feels is sending
her into a panic
this is stations in her body intensify
and she's convinced something awful is
about to happen
she feels a need to get outside and
leaves her shopping cart full of goods
behind
she walked slowly towards the excess
assume she's outside in
she slight sensible and more controllers
physical sensations are losing momentum
although she is coming down she's still
in shock and her body shaking
it feels as if someone had just held a
gun to her head
she has never felt so terrified and have
control in all her life she called her
husband at work
and tells them what happens and asks if
he would meet her
so they can go to the hospital together
a few hours later changes lying on a
hospital bed
waiting for the results of the medical
tests his completions
the doctor arrives and tells that they
cannot find
anything physically wrong with her and
it was most likely a panic attack
this is relieving get confusing at the
same time
panic attack she thinks sure members and
ants that experience
panic attacks but never really
understood what that meant
certainly never imagined it that is
scary as what she just went through
glad that nothing is physically
Ron should check says the hospital goes
home
within minutes lying on the bed she
falls fast asleep
on waking
fathers day James the chickens schools
just
it all seems like a surreal dream by
lunch time she's already second guessing
the medical tests
convinces herself that something was
missed and that there must be something
more serious than anxiety involved
days passage cannot stop thinking about
what happened in the supermarket
she stills feels shaken by the
experience
lives in fear that it might strike
against any moment
for the first time in our life she does
not feel safe
leaving her home

What Causes A Panic Attack And Dealing with Anxiety attacks

panic and anxiety disorder is a disease
which it is it is just the hardest thing
to treat because
their art outward signs a bit and
they're they're generally
art chemical or or blood tests or you
know they can't work up on you to find
something floating in your system and it
is one of those things that
in till very recently doctors would say
was
just all in your head and is not just
doctors I would say that
family members and friends could be some
other cause cruelest people
when you deal with panic and anxiety I
saw up close and personal
a very sad set of circumstances
circumstance with my sister
should be in a panic and anxiety attacks
back in mid 80's of course the
mid-eighties
thirty years ago almost it was it like
it is today so you couldn't just
call someone up and tell about your
panic attacks
you could call into work in saying I'm
gonna be late I'm having an anxiety
attack or a meltdown of some sort
you you'd be they'd say you're crazy
when in fact what you know
you listen to me you know this you know
the panic and anxiety has nothing to do
with your intelligence in fact a panic
anxiety
disorders are generally the suffered
by people who are very high intelligence
very high functioning
and but but you know 25-30 years ago
you'd if you talk to a panic and anxiety
if anyone even know you're talking about
they come down on the side of you being
just plain nuts
or if you were shown up to work on time
or at all
you're just lazy or if you didn't end up
with a partier
some social function you're just being
antisocial
in the stigma back in the eighties made
it very difficult for people to either
understand it or know about it and even
if they did
have any sympathy at all what you're
going through
and again people that your closest to
could be some other cruelest in those
relationships
my sister for example was having a very
difficult time and not many was know
about it for the reason that is
mentioned
and the ones that did were dismissive
myself included I'm not proud to tell
you that
but one of the most dismissive with my
uncle
who would sometimes just outright and I
don't use the language he used his
I I don't know what your your
sensibilities are so I'll just
keep this kind of G-rated my uncle would
say listen
that is just nonsense invite my sister
work for my uncle
he owned a restaurant my sister work
form and there'll be times when she
could show up to work or would show up
to work or whatever
and he would say that is just pure
poppycock getting paraphrasing here
it was very very devastating to a sister
who was trying to reach out his plan
which is gone through
well here is and if you have ever gone
to panic and anxiety
when thomas et next you would like to
reach through
your computer through the speakers you
would like to shake my hand when I tell
you I'm gonna raise a
my sister would say I hope you never go
through what I'm going through
to malcolm she was said anybody sheets
and hope you never go through this
I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemies
and even if people are coming down on
her given a hard time for not
understanding
very plainly very resolutely she's a
you don't have any idea what you're
talking about if you did you wouldn't
say these things
and I hope you never go through this now
the insidious thing about anxiety is
sometimes it runs in families as you
know
if you don't know am you give a pig in a
family
do a little research to find out who
runs in families one day
my uncles in the dentist's chair had to
go through procedure
and as in the chair as he tells the
story he began to get this feeling in
stomach
and then this feeling those have a hard
time breathing and is feeling like you
just had to get
out of the chair and he had never
experienced
a panic or anxiety attack before he was
in that Dennis chair
now listen some love you have dealt with
his long enough you may not even
remember all the places you've felt it
but I bet you remember the first place
you felt it I can you imagine what a bit
what it would have been like to be in a
dentist's chair
and have that be your first experience
and think your going crazy and you're
coming unglued in your skin as he put it
is just crawling
and you feel like you can't breathe your
heart is racing
and you look around and you took the
walls are caving in and you feel like
you're getting tunnel vision
and you feel like literally any moment
could black out or fall over and no one
has no one understands and don't listen
and your head is ringing and you can't
think straight and you're gonna mile a
minute
imagine that in a dentist's chair with
just that
thing around your neck realizing that
that their bibs and realizing that is
taking their babe of
don't think you're nuts and as they get
that thing in your mouth in the waters
was in around another
you're thinking about the procedure how
long it's gonna take and you realize
once they start they won't be able to
stop it upon end up having a platoon
they can stop in the middle point to
them that makes a panic and anxiety get
worse
nursing a hyperventilating and finally
you just look
at the nurse you look up at you say I've
got to get out of here
and they look at you like you're nuts
and you're crazy
that was when Mark was first panic
attack not as last but his first
and hear him tell me that story years
later crying to me
and I went to my sister and ask for
forgiveness was one was heartbreaking
and your gratifying moment I've ever
ever lived in not that I want him to
experience that and not because I wanted
him to
to have any pay back but so that someone
else in my family would understand
so my sister would have someone else who
knew where she was coming from an ally
where you are right now lemme you maybe
somebody who
is going to panic and anxiety and you
think you're alone and you're not
and you may have folks in your life who
were dismissive and they say they don't
understand
but you're listening right now to a
voice have someone who does understand
your listing the voice of someone now
who knows what you're going through
