How To Deal With High Anxiety And Panic Attacks
Hi, its Ben. How are you doing? I hope
youre having an awesome day today and if
youre not, thats okay. Today is going
to be really helpful for you because the truth
is that youre having some difficulties
with anxiety disorder and anxiety, or panic,
or agoraphobia or whatever it is for you.
So, today its going to be really helpful
because its going to teach you exactly
how to deal with high anxiety, anxiety attacks
and panic attacks.
One of the things I learned about panic and
anxiety that was really helpful for me, and
I wish Id known it right from the very
beginning and I hope that its as valuable
to you as it was for me is, that panic and
anxiety, anxiety attack symptoms, high anxiety
are very temporary, meaning that obviously
a panic attack, it doesnt come up and stay
high forever and ever, that anxiety just cant
last. It simply has to burn off, it just cant
last.
So, one of the things that Id read somewhere
in a book, I cant remember where it was
now, but it is that anxiety is just like a
music note. It rises up and then it comes
down, so its almost like a music note.
This is going to be the worst looking music
note youve ever seen. There you are, look
at that, I dont know. It looks more like
a flag.
The point is, that anxiety disorder, anxiety
attacks and panic attacks, they have a peak
to them and they have a trough. Trough meaning
heres a peak here and trough down here.
Now, one of the things that was super helpful
for me in regards to specifically panic attacks,
is that you end up getting to this peak here
where just like ahh, and you feel like everything
is about to just completely explode and then
all of a sudden what happens?
Its just kinds of breaks off doesnt
it, it doesnt get stronger. You get to
this point and all of a sudden it starts to
break off and then you end up experiencing
generally another peak after that and then
probably another peak and another peak and
it just kind of trails off until you get to
this point where you just feel like ah, thank
God thats over.
You just go back to feeling somewhat normal
or you go back to at least feeling this level
of anxiety. Lets see, your mid level of
anxiety is here. You go back to this mid level
of anxiety thats a little bit more normal
and definitely a lot more handle-able, something
that dealing with is not really that difficult
or challenging but the important thing to
note here, is that there is a peak and the
trough, a peak and a trough.
The high anxiety, whether youve got an
anxiety disorder and you experience high times
of anxiety or you end up experiencing panic
attacks, what happens is, is that it rises
to a peak, falls down, rises to a peak, falls
down rises to a peak and theres this trail
off effect that happens. The really important
thing to note here is that your time at this
peak, just like a music note, is limited.
It can only last so long and generally it
just falls right off really quickly after.
You get to that peak and you fall off. The
next time you find yourself moving into a
panic attack, and you and I both know how
that feels, because all of a sudden youre
going into it and youre like, oh man Im
about to have a panic attack and you feel
those feelings throughout your body and youre
just, oh man here it comes here it comes and
you think to yourself, Ive got to hang
on to this one.
What happens is that, this is kind of like
part two of this video, what happens is that,
that hanging on that you do, oh God here it
comes What happens is that hanging on actually
makes it worse. The reason why is because
of that strong resistance, that pushing away
from the anxiety.
You just try to brace yourself for it where
as the best thing you could possibly do and
I know it is challenging but the best thing
you can possibly do is just kind of sit there,
lay there, wherever you are, whatever youre
doing. If youre standing, sitting, laying
down, youve got to just let it wash up
over you and then wash off.
This is not a method for healing anxiety,
this is a method for dealing with anxiety.
This is a method, a coping technique for dealing
with. This will not heal your anxiety or your
panic but one thing is for certain is that
it helps to put it in scope, because all of
a sudden you dont want to experience it
the same way and all of a sudden you realize
oh it has one big ass peak to it and then
a couple of small ones.
What happens then is that as youre moving
in that place, youre just like oh men here
it comes, all you have to do is realize theres
going to be one peak, theres going to be
a couple of other little peaks after it and
its not going to kill me, I can live through
it, Im going to be okay.
What happens is as you live through this peak
and trough thing that happens with high anxiety
and panic, what happens is you start to see
the nature of panic and high anxiety and so
much so that you start to realize that all
of a sudden, huh, there really isnt anything
for me to fear here. Even though the feelings
are super high and super strong and often
times extremely overwhelming and you get those
really trapped, trapped, trapped feelings
and feeling like Im about to explode, Im
about to die, my head is going to explode.
When you have those feelings just know that
theres specific peak to them and theres
also a trough.
I hope you find this super helpful. This was
something that was extremely valuable for
me. Know that the next time youre kind
of heading into a panic attack or you feel
it coming on, know these two things. There
are peaks and troughs to it. There are a certain
number of peaks and youre going to go through
it and youre going to be totally fine.
You think of them like waves. Theyre just
like a wave, the wave goes up and you ride
back down. The wave goes up and you ride it
back down. It goes up and you ride it back
down and eventually get to this spot and youre
just like, thank God thats over, not the
least bit enjoyable but thankfully its
over. Thats the first part.
The second part is, is when you feel it coming
on, knowing this here is extremely valuable
but the other part is, is that by knowing
this here, it helps you to not resist the
panic attack the same way because if you resist
the anxiety you resist the panic attack you
feel like just hold on for dear life during
this experience.
What will happen is, itll tend to make
these peaks even higher. Just let it kind
of happen. Just ride the wave, let it happen
and let yourself just kind of let it break
off. Just let it roll over you and let it
roll off. The truth is, its not going to
kill you and it cant hurt you. Youre
going to live through it just like everyone
else has. Panic attacks cannot kill you.
Youre going to be okay. I hope you found
that helpful. Practice it the next time you
feel your anxiety getting higher or you feel
a panic attack coming on. I hope you found
that helpful. Make sure you check out my free
report at www.anxietyresolutionmethod.com
because in there, there is a free video that
will show you exactly how you can end up moving
through these and disarming a panic attack
in a matter of seconds. Super helpful, I will
talk to you soon.
