Syria: Disturbing footage of two vehicle bombings killing dozens




It has been a weekend of chaos and bloodshed
for the people of Syria. At least 31 people
were killed by a suicide truck bomb on the
edge of the city of Hama on Sunday
Charred craters filled the once busy road...
Emergency crews used whatever means possible
to carry the wounded to safety.
Firefighters tried to extinguish the flames
and black smoke rising from the abandoned
trucks and cars.
Local news agencies are blaming andquot;terroristsandquot;,
the term they use to describe rebel forces
trying to topple President Assad.
Meanwhile, more shocking footage has emerged,
but this time showing masked figures attempting
to attack forces loyal to President Assad.
The first video shows the fighters preparing
a car bomb to target those guarding a checkpoint
near Damascus on Saturday.
A second video claims to show an explosion near
to the checkpoint.
Sounds of gunfire soon fill the air.
This footage is yet another reminder of how
Syria's initial peaceful protest has spiralled
into a full-out civil war, with fighting now
spread across most of the country.
