If you are aware, or mindful, you'll have a better chance of talking yourself out of them.
Mindfulness refers to being aware enough in order to address each instance of stress one by one and paying attention to how you feel.

going to happen is, probably the whole day
you will sit there and then, you know, be
very negative. [You] Donâ™t want to meditate,
donâ™t want to, you know, go out, or donâ™t
want to do anything, you have no interest
in anything at all. So what do you do? Maybe
you will watch TV, and then drink a couple
of beers, Okay. And while away the time. Okay.
So it is very important to kill the demon
right away. No, I just have to get out. Okay.
And do things. And you canâ™t do it on your
own. You have to use Durgaâ™s energy. And
if you just listen to this chant a few minutes,
fifteen minutes. Within fifteen minutes, the
demon will get out of your awareness. Then,
miraculously you will find that you have more
energy to do.
And this happens when you are sick too. When
you find that you have some physical problem,
some pain, and then you use this Chant. Even
people who are experiencing a heart attack
or panic or trauma situation, if they just
use this Durgaâ™s mantra, within fifteen
minutes the energy goes away.
Whenever you find that you are being attacked,
then again do this mantra, then youâ™ll find
that you are out of it. Itâ™s very important
that you have to keep killing, constantly,
the demons that destroy you.
